‘Supernatural’ and ‘Smallville’ Previews of October 1 Episode

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

“What’s faster than a speeding bullet?” will be the easily-guessed quiz for the next episode of “Smallville“. In “Shield“, an assassin named Deadshot (guest star Bradley Stryker) takes aim at new Daily Planet reporter by the name of Kat but Clark learns the man has a dangerous hidden agenda that involves The Blur.

Lois departs for Egypt and Carter Hall (guest star Michael Shanks) turns up in there to keep an eye on her and he tells her about his wife Shayera (guest star Sahar Biniaz). Hall is the real name of fellow superhero Hawkman who had appeared in the show’s “Absolute Justice” episode in February.

Immediately after “Smallville“, “Supernatural” takes over with the episode called “Two and a Half Men“. Sam investigates a case about missing babies whose parents are being murdered. At one of the crime scenes, he discovers a baby that was left behind and calls Dean for help. Reluctant to leave Lisa and Ben, Dean finally agrees to meet Sam and surprises his brother with how parental he has become.

The brothers take the baby to Samuel, who decides to raise it as a hunter, which infuriates Dean. However, before they can decide the baby’s future, a shape-shifter breaks in and attempts to kidnap the baby.

“Shield” and “Two and a Half Men” air October 1 at 8/7c and 9/8c respectively.

New Trailers of ‘Supernatural’

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

As previously reported, the new season of “Supernatural” would be some sort of a throwback to season 1. At the recent Television Critics Association tour, the CW panel said Sam will be more like Dean and Dean will be more like Sam. They basically switch personalities.

“Supernatural” returns on September 24.

Supernatural – Set Report and Photos

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

They were filming the season premiere, and from what I could tell, Sam was himself and for some reason driving a Charger.. and has some kind of emotional goodbye/send off with Dean outside of Lisa’s house. There was also a red Challenger parked down the street that they were using. and Azazel is back, presumably NOT in a flashback but I could be wrong.

Eric Kripke: Why I Stepped Down, What’s Coming Up Next on Supernatural

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

Eric Kripke is no longer the man in charge of Supernatural.

The show’s creator has given himself a demotion, but is still privy to plenty of show spoilers and secrets. In an interview with EW.com, he opens up about season six, while also explaining his reason for stepping down…

On his reduced role: I knew that we were closing this chapter and opening a new one. It felt like it was the right time to take a step back and focus on new projects, but still keep my grubby little mitts in the show… I really think after five years of all of my crap, to have someone who has a fresh perspective and a fresh energy on these characters and this universe is healthy for the show.

Should the show have ended after last season?
The question is not should it have ended, the question is, Is the new story line compelling and interesting and is it an arena of this universe that we haven’t explored yet and is it putting Sam and Dean into new situations that we haven’t seen before? I think it does all of the above.

On season six spoilers: The great undiscovered country of Supernatural is kind of right in front of our face: creatures and monsters. We have had so many creature episodes but we haven’t actually explained where they came from – [similar] to the way we have explored angels and demons.

How do they feel about the situations they are in? Are they from here? Where did the first ones come from? How did werewolves and vampires and shape-shifters all begin anyway?

** Supernatural moves to Fridays this fall and premieres on September 24.

Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki to Attend Comic Con

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

The “Supernatural” panel at the San Diego Comic Con International this year has just gone a notch more interesting. The horror series’ two leading men are confirmed attending the panel which is scheduled to take place on the last day of the convention, Sunday, July 25 at Ballroom 20 starting 11:15 A.M.

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles missed the biggest event for fanboys last year because they were catching up with the shooting schedule in Vancouver. In this summer 2010, both will spare time for the audience along with co-stars Misha Collins and Jim Beaver, as well as executive producers Eric Kripke, Ben Edlund, and new showrunner Sera Gamble.

According to the description from the official Comic Con site, the panel which will go one-hour long includes an exclusive sneak peek at footage from the highly anticipated sixth season, a Q & A session and a screening of the special features from the upcoming Supernatural: The Complete Fifth Season DVD and Blu-ray release.

Little is known about the sixth season because production was only kicked off recently in Vancouver. But it’s known that Ackles will make his directorial debut in the fourth episode. Meanwhile, “Exile on Main Street” which is the first return episode, will air Friday, September 24.

A Major Villain Returning to ‘Supernatural’

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

Fans at a Supernatural convention in New Jersey got a big surprise this weekend when one of the guests announced that he’ll be returning to the show for the season 6 premiere.

071310 1001 AMajorVilla1 A Major Villain Returning to Supernatural

Frederic Lehne announced that he’s heading to the set starting this week to reprise his role as Supernatural‘s original bad guy, Azazel, aka the Yellow-Eyed Demon. Dean killed the YED with the Colt at the end of season 2 with an assist from the ghost of John Winchester. Azazel made additional appearances later in flashbacks or time travel episodes when we saw him possess Sam and Dean’s grandpa as well as a priest.

Combined with the news that Mitch Pileggi is returning for multiple episodes, this raises some serious questions about what the heck is going on in Supernatural season 6. It sounds like they’re reopening all of the original mythology, possibly offering a more detailed explanation about Azazel’s master plan to free Lilith and open Lucifer’s cage. We could also learn more about the special children who were so crucial to season 2.

Whatever the reason, I’m getting very excited about season 6. Instead of starting over, it looks like new showrunner Sera Gamble is going to be using a lot of the existing mythology and I can’t wait to see how Azazel returns.

The sixth season will premiere Friday, September 24 at 9pm.

Supernatural – Fredric Lehne Returns as Azazel

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

071210 0556 Supernatura1 Supernatural Fredric Lehne Returns as Azazel

We thought we’d seen the last of him, but he’s back!

At this weekend’s Creation Entertainment Salute to “Supernatural” convention in Parsippany, N.J., Fredric Lehne himself affirms that he will return as the series’ original baddie, the Yellow Eyed Demon – also known as Azazel. Zap2it is still awaiting studio confirmation, but for now, we’ll take Lehne’s word for it.

Lehne says he’ll start work on Wednesday, July 14, while the cast and crew is working on the season premiere. Though he has had the most screen time as Azazel, the demon has also been portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Rob Labelle, Mitch Pileggi, and very briefly by Lindsey McKeon.

Warner Bros. has confirmed that Mitch Pileggi will also return to the show — though whether he’ll appear as Azazel or Samuel Campbell, Sam and Dean’s grandfather, we don’t know.

The demon was killed by Dean in the Season 2 finale, so we’re guessing he’s returning for a flashback or a time-travel episode. Either that, or Azazel’s back from the dead… which isn’t exactly a rare occurrence on “Supernatural.” It happens just about every Thursday, give or take.

Sera Gamble, who has taken over for Eric Kripke as showrunner for the series’ sixth season, has mentioned that this year “Supernatural” will return to a format that closely resembles its first season, so it seems appropriate to bring back the first season’s biggest villain.
